Komodo liveaboard ยท Choosing a boat

How to choose a Komodo liveaboard

Five questions that narrow down the boat, the trip length and the way you sail.

1. Sharing trip or private charter?

Choose a sharing trip if you travel alone, as a couple or in a small group and want a set date with a lower price per person. Choose a private charter if you want the whole boat, your own dates and your own route, for a family, friends or a special occasion.

Sharing trip

Share a Komodo liveaboard with other travellers (also called an open trip). Pick a cabin on a scheduled departure and pay per person.

  • Fixed departure dates and live cabin availability
  • Price per person, shown before you book
  • Reserve online and get your invoice at once
FromIDR 3.000.000per person

Private charter

The whole liveaboard and crew for your family, friends or group. You choose the dates and the pace.

  • Pick your dates and see the price straight away
  • Prices per boat by trip length, high and regular season
  • The operator confirms within 24 hours
FromIDR 80.250.000per boat

Diving charter

A private Komodo liveaboard charter planned around diving, for certified divers and their group.

  • Private boat for your dive group
  • Prices per boat with the number of dives for each trip length
  • Tell us your certification in the request
FromIDR 185.000.000per boat

2. How many days?

Three days and two nights is the most common length, and enough for the main stops. Longer trips add time at each stop and more remote places. Boats that sail between Lombok and Labuan Bajo take 4 days and 3 nights, and on some boats the way back takes 5 days and 4 nights.

3. Which cabin?

On a sharing trip the cabin is the main price difference. Look at the bed type, the bathroom, air conditioning and how many people the cabin sleeps. Each boat page lists its cabins with photos and live availability.

4. Will you dive?

Snorkelling and island walks are included on the boats. If you want to dive, pick a diving charter and tell us your certification level and number of dives.

5. What is your budget?

Compare starting prices on the price page, remembering that the park fee is added to your invoice (see park fees).

What to check on any boat

  • How many guests and how much crew it carries.
  • The cabins: beds, bathrooms, air conditioning.
  • What is included and what is not, as listed on the boat page.
  • The route and the departure point, either Labuan Bajo or Lombok.
  • The cancellation and payment terms: Cancellation Policy and Payment Policy.
