Raja Ampat is an area in the far northeast of Indonesia and consists of 4 islands (Misool, Selawati, Batanta and Waigeo) and literally translates to the four kings.
The tour starts and ends in Sorong/Waisai.
Our itinerary covers the central part around the Dampier Strait and Batanta and the southern part of Misool to give you the opportunity to see all the best spots in Raja Ampat, the northern area including Wayag is only visited on special trips. More than 1.700 species of fish and 600 species of corals are found here. The Marine protected area with a no take zone in Misool ensures the health of corals and fish populations, a study in 2008 shows that the shark and fish population went up by 60-200% compared to ten years before.
Here, you can see Wobbegong Sharks, Reef and Oceanic Mantas, Pygmy Seahorses in all variations plus many endemic species from little Shrimp Gobies to the rare Walking Shark. The shear amount and variety of reef fish will leave you in awe, combined with pelagics and occasional whales and dolphins on the surface and even a muck diving spot in the south of Batanta rounds up this trip to a once in a lifetime diving experience.
Secluded dreamlike beaches, stunning limestone cliffs and islands and the famous bays and channels invite for a tour with the ship, viewpoint visits or sunsets with the toes in the sand.
Day 1
The Amira crew picks up our guests from the airport or hotel. After a welcome drink, our guests check in to their cabins. Afterwards there will be breakfast or lunch, depending on the time of arrival. When all guests are on board and have settled in, a detailed boat and safety briefing will be given by the cruise director. In the afternoon, the general diving briefing explains the process and organization of our diving operations. Usually there are no dives offered on the first day.
Day 2-10
We offer 3-4 dives daily, including a dusk or night dive if possible. During crossings we do a maximum of 2 to 3 dives per day.
Day 11
Last diving day with a maximum of 2 dives and cruise to disembarkation harbor.
Day 12
Check out and transfer to airport or hotel accompanied by our crew.
On this special itinerary, we focus mainly on the southern part of Raja Ampat, called the Misool area. Most of this trip will take place in the south and we might visit areas like Wayilbatan, Pele, Fiabacet, Daram and many more. This part of Raja Ampat is highly protected as it has been turned into a no take zone. The MPA is managed by the Misool Eco Resort, which we also support by donating to this good cause.

With over 600 coral species, a huge variety of colorful macro creatures and many species of fish in all sizes, Raja Ampat is clearly a hotspot of biodiversity. Respected marine biologists have called this area a ‘species factory.’
In West Papua the Amira visits the most beautiful dive sites in the North of Raja Ampat.
The first tour destination is the famous dive sites at Kri, followed by the Gam and Penemu Islands.
The second part of the tour leads to the North of Raja Ampat to the island labyrinth at Wayag, where in addition to the fish-rich dives the spectacular landscape will also elicit enthusiasm.
